About the Society
A society of lap providers, loaf keepers, and witching-hour walkers.
Chapter I · The People
You bought a bigger couch so a 12-pound creature could sprawl. You learned which restaurants have heated patios because she shivers in air conditioning. You know the exact decibel level at which her bark becomes a problem and the exact 5pm hour at which she becomes one. You have a routine. The routine has a routine. The routine is mostly her.
You are not alone.
There is a whole society of us out here. The lap providers. The loaf keepers. The witching-hour walkers. The people who get genuinely sad when they have to leave the house. The ones whose phone camera roll is 80% the same small dog in slightly different positions.
We made Lap Dog Society for us.
We make apparel, goods, and rituals for the humans who serve small dogs. Heavyweight cream cotton, hand-drawn illustrations, packaging that respects the gravity of the situation. We don't make "merch." We make membership.
Chapter II · How it actually started
(aka tiki tiki, kayita mamita, kayooka, squeak.) She's a blue/gray dappled miniature dachshund with strong opinions who arrived in 2019 and immediately decided I was hers.
I started making designs for myself because nothing on the market captured the actual experience of being someone's lap. The "dog parent" tees were cute, but they were about her, not about what loving her had done to me. I wanted apparel for the receiving end of the relationship.
So I made it. She approved every design.
She's Founding Member 001.
You're reading this because you're already a member. We just hadn't met yet.
Chapter III · Membership
You don't apply. There's no application, no formal induction. The dog makes the choice. You can attempt to resist, but you'll lose. We've all tried.
